After months of anticipation the first fruit of the exciting new collaboration between two British boatbuilders – Broom Boats and Tyler Wilson – has emerged.
The heritage-honed steelwork skills of Tyler Wilson's narrowboat and wide beam boats and barges are born in the heart of the UK's canal network, while the craftsmanship of Broom Boats has been evident on its highly valued range of river and seagoing motor yachts for more than a century. The TylerBroom range is a testament to the artisan skills of these two excellent British Boatbuilders, who have come together to offer a fusion of the very best of the best.
TylerBroom narrowboats and wide beam boats provide perfect options, whether considering using the boat for weekends and holidays or as a permanent place to live with modern interiors, all accommodated in a very high quality traditional hull. Hull preferences and interior specifications are discussed with prospective customers by highly experienced sales agent Tingdene Boat Sales. Interiors are then designed by Broom in-house using handpicked materials to create a high quality contemporary finish.
The first Tyler Broom, a 58ft narrow beam semi-traditional stern model, has been launched at the Crick Boat Show, 26-29 May 2017, on stand LB5. It features a remarkably bright and airy interior with a master cabin at the stern that makes the very best of the 6ft 10in beam. Powered by a Nanni 43hp diesel with twin alternators, this first 58 has been specified with a high standard of technical fit out, including bow thruster, 3kW inverter, Eberspächer waterbased immersion and central heating, to name just a few of many features. Even as you step aboard you’ll notice luxurious, yet practical touches like the hardwood topped exterior lockers.
The show model is listed at £149,950 inc VAT and further details can be found at http://www.tingdeneboatsales.net/TylerBroom

The Northern Boat Show have announced more canal boats will be joining their stunning line-up of power boats, ribs and sailing boats on show at Liverpool on 23-25 June, all at the heart of the Mersey River Festival. Giving visitors, interested in getting on the water, the opportunity of seeing the full spectrum of the leisure marine market from boat builders, canoes, kayaks, sail makers, marinas, holidays, chandlers, water sports and engine manufacturers to marine finance, clothing specialists and navigation equipment.
Highlights at Liverpool include the highly anticipated Tyler Broom canal boat from Tingdene Marinas. Tyler Broom is a partnership between Broom Boats, England’s oldest production boatbuilder, and Tyler Wilson a respected narrowboat builder - to produce a range of narrow and widebeam boats with a modern twist. The Tyler Broom range of boats dispels the myth that all canal boats are dark, damp and uninviting. Think instead of a light, bright waterside apartment with views of the water from every aspect. To complete the inland water display will be Aintree with their 25ft Beetle and 60ft bespoke semi-cruiser, Narrowboats Ltd with a Pioneer 60ft x 9ft slim line wide beam, Viking Canal Boats with a 65ft x 12ft 6in floating apartment and five canal boats from locally-based Collingwood Boat Company.
At the other end of the spectrum, Canoe and Kayak Direct will be exhibiting a range of kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards to cater for the novice to more experienced water sports enthusiast and Shark Attack Watersports can equip you with everything from wetsuits to swimming goggles. There is of course more conventional ways of getting on the water such as a Beneteau motor boat, BRIG rib, Axis sports boat, Zodiac inflatable, Pirate Boats fishing boat to the Kite sailing boat from Demon Yachts.
Richard Milbourn, Event Director of the Northern and Western Boat Shows said, “Not only is there so much to see at the Show but the Mersey River Festival has something for all the family with everything from historic ships, boat racing, music to a wakeboarding competition! This year, Liverpool is proud to welcome Armed Forces Day, with plans for some of the most spectacular and iconic displays from the Armed Forces being welcomed to the city on Saturday 24th June.“
Milbourn added, “plus our sponsors have some great prizes on offer including a Fairview Sailing weekend yacht charter, a Sailing Logic introduction to racing course for 2 and a Helly Hansen sailing jacket. Award winning marine distributor Starboard Locker has launched an exclusive new product that aims to protect both boats and the environment.
The company has recently worked with a major manufacturer to develop the Bilge Buddy brand of spill containment and absorbent products. This range is specifically built with boat owners in mind for keeping bilges and bilge water free from oil and fuel spills as well as dealing with any fuel spill that may occur when people are refueling tanks or generators.
Managing Director and Co-Founder of Starboard Locker, Ian Lofthouse, said: “In these days of increasing environmental awareness and controls it is essential that we all do what we can to prevent damaging the environment while enjoying our past times responsibly.
“This is particularly true when boating. Any boat with an engine has the potential to damage the environment with fuel, engine or hydraulic oil and even coolant leaks. Every responsible boat owner should carry the basic kit to be able prevent and clean up after any spills or leaks. The Bilge Buddy Range will make sure that you are prepared for this eventuality.”
